Aminah's Mystical Musical Journey
Aminah Chishti is a founding member, Tabla Player and Vocalist with the internationally renowned Sufi Qawwali Ensemble Fanna-Fi-Allah.
As a revered student of Ustad Dildar Hussain and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Aminah-Ji took her learning to a level of living and performing with her Ustad's. Bringing the rich legacy to Fanna-Fi-Allah, Aminah-Ji hosted her Ustad and Sons in her home to enrich the ability for the Sufi message to be received, and Fanna-Fi-Allah being carriers of the masters to deliver the message far and wide.
Band members include:
Tahir Qawwal : co-founder band leader vocals and harmonium. Born in Nova Scotia. We met in Kauai on the beach in 1998. A dynamic duo in love with Sufism from the beginning.
Lali-ji Qalandar : The 3rd founding member. Vocals clap and solo's. Lali-ji had the great ability to mimic the ways of the Qawwals and a natural talent for rhythmic soloing. We also met on the beach in Kauai but in 1997.
Arjun Baba : 2nd harmonium, tremendous skills at the side singing position with the ability to hit the high notes and cut through the repetition of the song. We met in 1998 in Washington State at a music festival.
Salim Chishti known as Pakal : Side singing, chorus, and clap. His generosity and love for Sufi culture brings depths of devotion and inspiration to the group. Formerly joined the band in 2010 at the Thailand Rainbow Gathering.
Ali Shan known as Andre Prys: chorus and clap. Traditionally a Qawwali Party has up to 8 of these members. Ali Shan joined the group in 2010. His great strengths come from his devoted heart, offering great generosity to complete the band.

Join us on a journey into one of the most awe inspiring Sufi centers on the planet, the holy shrine of Laal Shahbaz Qalandar - Sehwan Sharif in Sindh, Pakistan. This video is particularly special as we have our local Qawwals joined to enhance the experience. Israr Hussain does an amazing solo right in perfect timing!
